The Breeders’ Cup: Celebrating the Pinnacle of the Horse Racing World
Horse racing has long been known as the Sport of Kings. And few events capture the royalty of the sport as thoroughly as the Breeders’ Cup.
The Breeders’ Cup World Championships culminate each year’s horse racing season with two days of breathtaking competition by the elite of the thoroughbred racing world. With 13 races and $28 million in awards at stake, topped by the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic purse, no other sporting event in the world offers greater riches to its winners.
A Timeless Opportunity to See and Be Seen.
But the races themselves are just the beginning. In keeping with its noble nature, the Breeders’ Cup has become one of the world’s most glamorous events. Each year, celebrities and other “beautiful people” gather from around the world to watch the best of the best horses, trainers, and jockeys compete while participating in the timeless pageantry surrounding the races. Champagne flows, food and flowers abound, and fashion reigns supreme.
Needless to say, the Breeders’ Cup offers the premier opportunity in the horse racing world to get noticed where and with whom it matters. It’s a chance for women and men alike to go all-out in style, and to see and be seen as a person of taste and distinction. As such, an extraordinary amount of thought and preparation goes into choosing just the right attire, from that classic dress or suit to the perfect accessories for the occasion.
Commemorating the Breeders’ Cup with Pride and Style
In contrast to other major horse racing events, the Breeders’ Cup takes place at a different track each year. Like the Olympics, hosting a Breeders’ Cup event is a matter of tremendous pride not only for those involved in the sport and the racing facility itself, but for the community of which it is a part.
Naturally, such an occasion calls for celebration, hospitality, and commemoration. And what better way to commemorate the Breeders’ Cup taking place in one’s own community than with a prized gift that captures the excitement, tradition, and historic significance of the event with distinction and style?
This year’s Breeders’ Cup takes place on November 3-4 at Del Mar Thoroughbred racetrack in Del Mar, California. However, in our next post we will take a short trip back in time and space to 2015 and the Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, KY, with the story of the creation of a beautiful, historic commemorative piece proving that colorful silks are rightly the domain of not only the world’s greatest jockeys, but of horse racing’s most dedicated fans, as well!
